Strategic Aims 2026/27

For the 2026 to 2027 academic year, the Department for Education has streamlined the Turing Scheme's focus into three core strategic objectives. Successful applications must demonstrate alignment with these goals:

Enhancing Skills

Developing transferable skills for life and careers. Placements should drive employability and personal growth.

Widening Opportunity

Supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds and underrepresented groups to access global mobility.

Value for Money

Delivering high-quality placements that represent efficient use of public funds with measurable impact.

Contribution to Living Costs

Grant rates are now simplified into two destination cost groups. Rates are paid per day based on the duration of the placement.
